406Cirque is Bozeman’s home for circus arts, movement, and creativity. We bring together artists, athletes, educators, and community members to create a space where people of all ages explore movement, balance, and expression through circus.

Now Hiring: Operations Manager
406 Cirque is looking for a professional, dedicated, and exceptionally reliable Operations Manager to become the organizational engine behind our growing circus and performing-arts center.
We are a vibrant team of artists, educators, and community builders expanding what the performing arts—and a thriving creative hub—can do for Bozeman. Our programs now include classes for all ages, performances, community events, venue rentals, camps, and professional entertainment throughout the region.
We need someone who sees what needs to happen, creates order, follows through, and takes genuine ownership of the work.
The Role
The Operations Manager will oversee the systems and daily coordination that keep 406 Cirque running smoothly. We are looking for someone prepared to make decisions, solve problems, maintain high standards, and become a trusted operational leader within the organization.
You will work closely with founders Paúl Gomex and Naomi Shafer while progressively taking ownership of recurring operations—allowing them to focus on artistic direction, organizational strategy, partnerships, and growth.
Experience in operations, administration, project management, events, arts organizations, education, hospitality, or small-business management is strongly valued. Familiarity with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, scheduling platforms, invoicing, Canva, Mailchimp, or registration systems is a plus.
You do not need a circus background. You do need excellent judgment, a strong work ethic, and the ability to become someone the entire organization can rely on.
This is an in person position. Approximately 30 hours per week. $25 – 30 Hourly, DOE

Core Responsibilities
- Manage the organizational calendar, schedules, deadlines, and weekly priorities
- Coordinate classes, instructors, performances, gigs, rentals, and special events
- Manage incoming email, routine client communication, inquiries, and follow-up
- Oversee registrations
- Guide rental clients from initial inquiry through planning and event completion
- Coordinate event logistics, equipment, transportation, and facility readiness
- Maintain organized files, records, inventories, checklists, and operational systems
- Create and improve standard operating procedures
- Support marketing communications, newsletters, and social-media coordination
- Identify problems early, propose solutions, and escalate only when necessary
- Help build an organization that is dependable, welcoming, creative, and professionally run

Teaching & Staff Opportunities
We offer a supportive environment where instructors and staff can grow as educators, performers, and collaborators.
Aerial Instructors
Teach beginner to advanced students in a safe, creative environment. Applicants should have professional training or teaching experience in aerial arts and a strong understanding of rigging safety.
Tumbling & Acro Coaches
Lead youth and adult classes focused on strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness. Gymnastics, cheer, or acro backgrounds are welcome.
Juggling, Flow Arts & Drama
Work within our PIR days, school residencies, after-school programs, and camps. Ideal for jugglers, clowns, and theater artists who enjoy working with young people and community settings.
Yoga & Movement Instructors
Share mindful movement, conditioning, and recovery practices that support circus training. Certification preferred but not required for specialty or cross-disciplinary styles.
Workshops & Intensives
Touring artists and specialists are invited to propose weekend intensives, master classes, or short-term workshops in their area of expertise.

Volunteer Opportunities
406Cirque also relies on volunteers to support our classes, events, performances, and community programs. Volunteering is a great way to be involved, gain experience, and contribute to the life of the organization.
Volunteers are expected to be dependable, engaged, and aligned with our values of safety, respect, and collaboration.
Volunteer roles may include:
- Assisting with youth programs and camps
- Supporting performances, showcases, and special events
- Helping with front-of-house, audience support, or logistics
- Studio support and behind-the-scenes project help
- Photography, Social Media, and Marketing
