Circus Classes for

Youth

Fun and Supportive Circus Classes

406Cirque’s Youth Program offers comprehensive circus training for students ages 6–18, from first-time movers to pre-professional artists.

Classes are designed to build physical skill, confidence, and creative expression within a structured, supportive environment.

What parents say about 406Cirque classes:

My kids learn valuable skills about teamwork and performance and how to support other kids in their risk-taking on stage. Plus they now know how to juggle, unicycle, and perform on the silks!”

Circus provides young people with something rare: a place where discipline and play coexist, where challenge is motivating rather than overwhelming, and where individuality is not only accepted but valued.

A young girl hangs upside down on aerial silks, smiling, while a woman kneels beside her, supporting and encouraging her. They are on a stage with bright lights and padded mats.

Our Approach

At 406Cirque, youth circus education is about more than learning tricks. Our curriculum is intentionally designed to support whole-child development—physical, emotional, and social—through movement-based learning.

We prioritize:

  • Safety and clear boundaries
  • Age-appropriate challenge and progression
  • Positive risk-taking and resilience
  • Collaboration, respect, and shared responsibility

Core Areas of Focus

Circus Skills & Physical Training

Students receive instruction across a wide range of circus disciplines, with emphasis on strong foundations and progressive skill-building.

Disciplines include:

  • Aerial arts
  • Balance and coordination
  • Juggling and object manipulation
  • Tumbling and acrobatics
  • Stage presence and performance fundamentals

Classes are structured to meet students at their current level while encouraging steady growth over time.

Emotional & Social Development

Circus naturally fosters skills that extend beyond the studio. Through guided practice and group learning, students develop:

  • Self-awareness and confidence
  • Emotional regulation and perseverance
  • Social awareness and teamwork
  • Communication and relationship-building
  • Responsible decision-making

These skills are integrated into class culture, not taught as add-ons.

A Positive Relationship to Movement

We encourage students to understand and appreciate their bodies as capable, adaptable, and expressive—valuing differences as part of the practice.

Our goal is to help young people build a healthy relationship with physical challenges—one rooted in curiosity, agency, and joy rather than comparison or pressure.
